Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by Liz Alexander
"

Dream that I had bout the guy I liked at the time. Now he dating my best friend

"

I walked through the church
And heard you say that you like my best friend
Hurt ran through my body
I liked you, but I’m happy for my friend
Then you come to me asking me
How to ask her out?
Pain for the second time
In a hour that you caused
While were talking you tell me
That you know that I like you
But you’re glad that I didn’t turn
Away when he asked for that favor
I told you that I didn’t care I
Would give up a measly little crush
When I’m saying this I trying to hold back tears and the pain
Because you will only ever be a
Friend oh the hurt it causes
But the next thing I know
Is that I am awake and it was all just a dream
Or it more like an all out nightmare.
