As my own

As my own

A Poem by Liz Alexander

You push my buttons

Like no ones else

I can't look at you

Because.....

I know

Iwill stare

Yet you chose the spot

Where you know

I will want to look

Why do you make me

Feel as if I was a stalker

You invade my dream

I try to ignore this

Nawing feeling in my gut

Why is it

I fall hard for a guy

Who is leaving

In a few

Short weeks

Sometimes it feels

As if you have

This Rockstar

Presence around you

With me

In a roll of an obessed fan

The way you walk around

With your keys

Swinging them around

As if you got somewhere

To be

Going to the next Elvis

Thats my question

You have grown up

Into a man

I'd like to keep

As my own

A very good poem. I like the desire and need in your words. Those people who can excite our soul are the one's we will remember. Your description was powerful. And a very good ending to a excellent poem.
