Consumed by the sun

Consumed by the sun

A Poem by Lewis Findley
"

The Moon and night

"

Always in shadows consumed by the sun.
such is the night. as it is meant to be
the moon is her mistress, given to rule
the ivory disc ascending in sky
and she can be cold so much of the time
yet certain times, she can be sweet and warm
yet she will give way when the sun breaks through
and the sun disappears, the night returns

Good write. I would however suggest doing something else with that last line. It just doesn't feel right with the rest of the piece. Perhaps it is the sudden repeat of the word "sun" after you just used it in the line before. Anyway, I like the over all feel of the piece. Kudos.
