Momma America

Momma America

A Poem by ibarfly jones

I’m filled with many imperfections and disappointments

Optimism and expectation fall victim to current events

I struggle to bestow gifts and care to all my inhabitants

Scrutinize every purchase, conversation, and movement

I used your hard earned money to fund my war against you

You have faith that I have your best interest in mind, fool

Nativity is my best tool as I continue to control your destiny

Freedom is long gone my friends and on its head is a bounty

Very politically charged and inspiring. The personification of "America" is very creative and helps you get your point across effectively. Also, the form and flow of the poem are put together very well. Good work.
