Desire

Desire

A Poem by icaros13

A selcouth sensation to an atrophied heart
It wakes the soul with its brisance
Giving life to that which was benumbed
Making the iniquitous seem noble

Deceitful glances and stained-glass words
Weave a translucent veil to hide the truth
Envy rises to have her say
Prolonging this perfect agony

Smoky faces, deafening places
Still, only one voice heard
Stolen moments and platonic embraces
Do nothing to satiate the hunger

. ah ... those isolated depths speak through your words ...
. there will be more ... i'm sure ...
. there will be a change ... change is the only constant ...
. beautiful piece of writing ...

I can relate to this. It's a wonderful poem. And I know the feeling. You described it well. Nice work.

About
For we have thought the larger thoughts And gone the shorter way. And we have danced to devil's tunes, Shivering home to pray; To serve one master in the night, Another in the day. ..I do love.. more..
