Bitter Sweet

Bitter Sweet

A Poem by Texas Identitycrisis

Cold wind blows sharp
Seeming to cut through
My heart and the rain
Each beats upon me
My sobs slowly build up
And join the unfortunate

Harsh ping and pang
Of random weathering
Moments of torture
Self-centered neglect
Of loyal emotion
Reeling from the cold

Twisted trees blowing
But never forget regret
Refusing to bend
Always searching
For sun, for pleasure
Blowing leaves here and there

Thoughts are broken
Wind takes each layer
Rain has beat
Pings and pangs
of sharp regret
Bitter sweet and sad

Crawl in and under
Face not the weather
Sleep until December
Or, never miss a chance
Face the rain, cold wind
Determined plunge

Circumstance reveals itself
As though sunlight
Peaking through rough clouds
Drys tears, warms chapped cheeks
Forget weather and chance
Never the sun or pleasure
