Sirtaki

Sirtaki

A Poem by Igor G. Balatsky

*

a wise man says

the day will come

when the last of the Cains

having quenched all his envy

kills the last of the Abels

and then

all the flowers and trees

having sighed with relief

will forget of the roots

and will happily dance

sirtaki

this brings to mind that when there is no longer hatred among men, or there will be no more wars, the flowers and trees will dance without their roots, which will never happen. the latter hence the former. enjoyed the wisdom this poem imparted.

Great poem. I assume sirtaki is a dance.

This line: "having sighed of relief" should correctly read "having sighed with relief." "will forget of the roots" isn't technically correct either, but I like the way it fits the poem.
