He praises his mother, Because of her, here he stands

Her name is "Necessity", her Son's name "Invention"

For what ever your needs were, She gave without mention

 

Happy Birthday to a Proud Black Man

He's blessed with God's Conscience in his Soul

Made to father nations and forge new Roads

Though I've known him little, Great respect he demands

A magnificent example of manhood's time span,

well formed, well endowed and Yes, well tanned

 

Happy Birthday to a Proud Black Man

As a beacon to the young continue to stand

Spread forth your wings of Knowledge and Love

Enclosing inside our children to guide

For through their victories you too shall rise

One year Stronger, Prouder and with God's Blessing More Wise
