The key to boys.

The key to boys.

A Poem by Fallon Gruppuso
"

The key to all boys.

"
In the first grade, we found out the key to boys- a secret passed on from generation to generation.
If he really likes you, he will tease you about your hair, and he will say he hates your  favorite pink sweater  and that you have one too many freckles.
And then years later, you will keep believing what he told you, you'll count your freckles with hatred and try to erase them away with artificial sweeteners and you will shove that pink sweater to the very back of your closet to the point of no return.
But that insecure little boy with a big crush grew up to be a man that loved that stupid pink sweater and adored how your matted hair cascaded down your shoulders in a wave of honey.
He loved the small freckles on your nose because they scrunched up whenever you got angry- he loved to make you angry for that sole reason.
I once got proof that although two people act as if they hate each other,
chances are that they are in love with each other.
