Masks

Masks

A Poem by T. Jay Keigh

Living in a world of skilled illusion
Created and formed to fuel confusion
Truth is hiding behind a mask
A taxing and tiresome, tedious task

Not wearing our hearts out on our sleeve
Wording deceptions that we conceive
Cause the truth can be ugly and it's exposing
But lies we make are pretty in clothing

Listen to the silence that's louder than words
Unspoken and quiet, always unheard
Feel the cries and see the truth
Without the need of any proof
