A Poem by T. Jay Keigh

I stare into the mirror,
And what's it say to me?
"You're ugly and disgusting.
I do not wish to see."
Feeling very low,
I stare up at the wall,
Crying to myself,
Cursing at it all.
The ugly naked truth,
The pretty covered lies,
Fills my jumbled mind
And fuels my own despise.
I know that no one cares,
And no one really knows.
They say that they're my friends,
But they're my biggest foes.
So I'll put on my fake mask
With a smile on its face,
Dying on the inside
And feeling out of place.

I havent seen very many rhyming poems on here lately, and I am glad that this one came across my screen.
It almost sounds sing-songy, which I believe adds a cruel twist to the whole poem since it is about such a dark topic.
Overall, I enjoyed it.
