An Ode' to Dead Poets

An Ode' to Dead Poets

A Poem by IMOGEAN

An Ode' to Dead Poets

In their words eternal,
They shall silently speak.

We shall read them,
And feel them,
And they will still
Make us weep.

Words so profound,
Will surely--always abound,
As the phrases,
And mazes,
Of their wisdom
Comes round.

Their thoughts
Sometimes meek,
To my heart they shall speak,
And the changes in me
Will most certainly
Run deep.

So, I write this today
As to honor their way
Yes, the passion they've shared
Will most certainly stay.

I really like your tribute. The layout is unusual, but I think that is good. Makes it a fun read.

I liked this. Unfortuately, the poets who have touched me the most, led tortured lives. Which makes me feel at least we have that in common. Perhaps they could not write the profound words without the angst. You gave them just tribute. Rain..

Nice poem :)
It's nice to think of a poet as to be remembered by the words that they wrote on paper, and not their race, or the way they acted, or where they were from. We need to remember people by their good traits :) Beautiful Poem

Timeless as the ones it was written for and this shall surely and most certainly stay.

Thank you for writing an honor to those who have come before and inspire those who will come behind, to write with passion.

Love it. How often have I found myself inspired in life, thanks to one of those old dead poets? Too many times to count, because I am one who loves to read them, and have since a young age.
A story, anyone can write. A poem? That takes a depth of soul that most stories never touch upon. At least, in my opinion.
Nicely written, too. Bravo.

In their words eternal,They shall silently speak.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The old dead poets wisdom lives long after them.
Like our parents achieving wisdom in our eye when they
had passed.
---We shall read them, And feel them, And they will stillMake us weep.
Perhaps we weep because we heard them too late.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Words so profound, Will surely--always abound, As the phrases, And mazes, Of their wisdomComes round.
The statue of David was broken before it was found to be priceless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Their thoughtsSometimes meek, To my heart they shall speak, And the changes in me Will most certainlyRun deep
Philosophy of prophets, veiled, often hidden behind our ego at times, when discovered
are life changing, uplifting.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I write this todayAs to honor their wayYes, the passion they've shared Will most certainly stay.
Finally to discover that we are a product of the past. We find that what was once considered
"old fashioned" is in reality an advanced life form and we come to share and enjoy a life that
has passed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is at once an interesting and well constructed little poem and a sharing, appreciation
of and passion for the 'good life' . Through study and application of life`s lessons you appear
to have become an artist, philosopher and prophet.
Congratulations ! Well done. Your living and writing attest to an investment in the past which
has created a future.

Further consideration: If the inventors of the concept of hell had been
poets with your understanding of life and love, there would be more
joy in the world. And much less fear that people would end up in some
horrid place. They might even join us in our efforts to say something
worthwhile.

All life is poetry of the soul.
Your words however add a dimension that becomes a part
of every reader and shares your wisdom with them.
Thus you have helped all poets to escape death by
passing their lives to future generations. Thank
you for sharing such beauty.

About
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, serenely, divinely aware... And this is why I write: AWARENESS... It is not in the moment that I tasted the delicacies of life .. more..
