Love

A poem I wrote on Valentine's Day,--long, but worth the read! :D

Love:

Here it is again,

Causing this rapture-

It’s the reason for birds to sing,

The Happy in “Happily Ever After”

The reason we live for--every single day,

The reason why, for our loved ones, we prey.

 The reason we hug or kiss goodbye.

The reason being all lovey-dovey can make us feel so high.

The reason we laugh,

The reason we sing…

(and, of course, why mother still has her wedding ring.)

The reasons we still believe in fairytale weddings and dreams,

No matter how far away or distant they seem.

The reason why friendship bracelets are still “In,”

The reason why we all have a type of hope within.

The very place happiness sprouts-

Why we don’t leave the helpless about.

The reason why we’ll protect and defend another-

Even if we don’t have the same father or mother.

The reason why Goodness will always lead the way.

It’s what the whole world wakes up to everyday--

Why we’ll still have the month of May even when storms are at bay.

The reason for that instant surge that just makes us feel so good,

Cuddling up by with our loved ones

(and eating more junk food than we *ahem* probably should.)

Why most people would feel like they’re on top of the world

The reason for all this poem’s cheesy-ness that would make you want to hurl,

The reason for day,

The reason for light.

The reason to spontaneously want to twist and dance with all of our might

The reason to want to just suddenly shout “Hip, Hip, Hooray!”

So, why not get a dose of it today?
