Love’s Fleeting

 

Nothing, I’ve got nothing,

I lost it all- everything.

Memories, you know they lie,

one question lingers-Why?

Why not? There’s no reason,

no rhyme or treason,

love doesn’t age like wine.

It hurts to know

she was once mine.

There I go

again

igniting the flame.

Soon I’ll be drinking,

thinking

of the past,

love is always fleeting,

the futile heart's pounding,

knows it never last.
