Ham Boned

Ham Boned

A Poem by stephen dillon

You are stuck on loop in all out wordplay warfare, just waiting down in the foxhole alone at night praying to a god you’ve never believed in before now. Remember when you wanted this struggle? Crawling through mud just to get across to the enemies & advance upon them with adjectives drawn and nouns and verbs ablaze, willing to kill your best friend for a spot with the gods. But that was then and this Is the pitiful now, where I wave the white flag, retiring, taking a dive, anything, s**t I’d sell my soul if I knew it’s worth just cash out now and write a book full of dogshit, and have it all handed to me.Really smooth and easy no more cutting myself to write down how it feels to bleed.

Writing can be a struggle. Very few writer's can make a living. Writing had been my hobby for almost 40 years. I must work to pay bills. I must write and read also. I like your logic in the poem.

Never easy is worthwhile. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and excellent poem.
