"Stolen Parts"

A Poem by stephen dillon

“STOLEN PARTS”

Within ten slow motion seconds mutilation and dismemberment took the coveted place once held by flawless form and functionality removing rawhide reveals red bone and burning pain both slightly more numbed than the uncertainty of it all coming undone like a child’s shoelace lazily lying on the floor in a heap same as the crooked crimson contents cockeyed and laughing at me from the slits in the cement filling themselves up until the excess is spilled out channeling a river of blood and plasma through the thirsty dirt rusting quickly as if years have passed inside of the droplets leaving home one by one emancipating the strength and stamina from my human husk
