before I run

before I run

A Poem by Writer

I wanted you to be the one to save me

I needed you to heal me

but now I know

the man I once knew is now a stranger

hidden between the rocks of later and never

your words lay bitter against my tongue

there's nothing you can do to keep me

nothing you can say before I run

your touch is cold

your eyes show nothing

there once was a time when I was your gold

when I was the one you couldn't dare hurt

but now I lie bleeding

crimson dug into your fingernails

No one can see me

no one can keep me

no one can love me

before I run

Deception hurts again and again.
Trap of fake love puts ugly chain.

I am impressed by your amazing work.
