Her essence clings to my bed

Together we have sinned

Her smile lights the dark

Her words stir my heart again

I feel her closer than any other.

She cares not that she is his

Freed from his controlling hand

his badge hangs upon her alabaster skin

I have trodden with wanton kiss.

I have sinned

But I will make love to her once again

Under the shelter of a moonless night

I care not that she belongs to him

For love wants what love needs

In many ways we are all sinners, and when it comes to love I, too, will not repent. Why should we feel ashamed, regretful for sharing our hearts, minds, bodies. Rather the love is returned or not. I cannot believe it is a sin to love. Just be joyous to know love for there are many who never will, taken from this life before given the chance. Wonderful poem. Yet again another masterpiece.
