lullaby

lullaby

A Poem by inkstainedsoul

sleep little darling
close your eyes,
dream honey dream
till the sun does rise.
don't listen sweetheart
close your ears,
ignore all the voices
screaming out your fears.
hush little baby
don't you cry,
this world is in need
of a lullaby.
to soothe its soul
and wipe its tears,
an empire built on
other peoples fears.

This is beautiful also. a lullaby for the world...I kept hearing Nickleback's song by the same title floating around my head as I read it, but I keep wanting to read it over and over. I'm not sure why people are not commenting all over your work. It's written in a beautiful modern style that still conveys emotion without being overblown. The word choice and topics/themes are mature. You are no novice at this, and if you are, then I cannot wait to read your work as you develop.
