A Poem by inkstainedsoul

mirrors are just glass,
an image of a bird
does not portray the glory of a soaring flight
or the mellifluous song of dawn
the image of a tree
does not capture it's intoxicating scent
or the whisper of life that russels its leaves
the image of a wolf
does not depict it's skyward howl
or the power rippling through its muscles
as it races towards the sunset
so how can you think it could ever
contain the entirety of you
your kind words that save my life
the subconscious smirk that graces your face when you laugh
the beauty of the moment you run your fingers
through your hair
mirrors are just glass
and you are so much more than that

I absolutely love this one. Your descriptions are wonderful with great analogy that works well. As a eoman I sometimes take whats in the mirror too seriously. ..this is a nice reminder that its only a little piece of the whole. Great job on this one!
