Silence could be a bridge or a barrier. It could be unspoken understanding or simmering resentment. Only you can choose your silence.

Silent words are the practice. 

Of the day, no more engagements

Outlines of love gone astray

 

Moments of awkward silence 

No more talking 

Just packing to move on

Awkward silences are the worst, a signal of, or a symptom of, a sad fading love affair.
And, yes, silences of warm unspoken understanding are moments to treasure.

There is a silence in this poem that can be felt. That silence is what is spoken between two people who no longer agree and the relationship has fractured. Lovely write
