Winter

Winter

A Poem by insanity
"

The frigid grips of winter don't last forever...

"

The days are cold

And the nights are long

The trees barren

Birds sing their sad song

The air is crisp

Winter draws near

Despair sets in

Our demise is clear

The last leaf falls slowly

Doom waits below

The frigid ground

Soon covered in snow

My eyes adrift

In a sea of white

Colors fade

I am the night

Shadows creep

By the fallen soldier

Hours pass

As the world gets older

Yet no one takes notice

Of a land so dry

Of an ocean so empty

Of eyes that sigh

Time bleeds

Its wicked tale unravels

War looms near
As the word travels

Sound the alarm

The heavens will rain

Strangers in a foreign land

Filled with disdain

Lay your weapons

At my feet

The sun rises

A new day to greet.
