Captivated

Captivated

A Poem by insanity

I wish I could explain how I feel

Words are nothing but daggers

They slice into my supple flesh

Digging deeper

My eyes, such sanctimonious liars

Beseech unto me a world

Where there is but truth

In only lies

There is no grievance

No mourning of what has become

To those left in the wake

Their solemn hearts left broken

As the sun sets on the distant horizon

I cannot but hope for light

As dusk sets upon us

I set my eyes for the morning glow

Tears streak down my cheeks

The howl of a lone wolf embraces my ears

I am alone as I ride into the sunset

For she waits just beyond the crest of morning

Her bronze hair sparkles like the dew of a spring dawn

Her ocher eyes shine like two burning embers

Lips pursed, cheeks lightly freckled as she smiles

I watch as she turns, so beautiful, so effervescent.

I am full of life as our bodies intertwine

My soul burns with passion

My eyes bleed with lust

My ears sigh with the sweet sound of her voice

As the sun rises along the shoreline

She is illuminated in all her splendor

Though my body is broken, bloody and bruised

We join hands and saunter towards the ocean at our feet

I am unsure but she leads the way

I am revived by her touch, relieved by her sweet scent

I am taken by this beauty

I am captivated
