Who Are We

Who Are We

A Poem by intentintrovert
"

Dying relationships and dysphoria are no fun.

"

As relationships fade,

and the day dies away,

I don’t know who we are anymore.

As we grow older each day,

and you seem less and less okay,

I don’t know who we are anymore.

As we lie down to sleep,

and we don’t even say a peep

to each other.

I don’t know who we are anymore.

As another year passes,

and changes are made, maybe just classes.

I don’t know who we are anymore.

So here I stand,

asking for your hand

But I don’t know who you are anymore.

Maybe you feel that way too,

My empty eyes stuck to you like glue.

You don’t know who I am anymore.

We are both gone now

different paths of life dragging us on

a journey that is anything but immaculate

But we are still birds of the same song.

Music performance

or Music education.

We just aren’t the same anymore,

not if’s, and’s, but’s or stipulations.

So goodbye my dear friend,

Maybe I’ll see you in the end.

But for now

I need to know who I am anymore.
