A Story by Ginni-Lu

     "This is bad timing."
     "So?"
"So this is not going to work. It's bad timing"
"Maybe it is, but what if its our only time, our only chance?"

My mind snapped back to reality, where my friends were arguing about the validity of the latest rumor: that I was going to the dance with Todd Morgan.

ENDING

I realize now that it wasn't bad timing because he was leaving. It was bad timing because we weren't ourselves. It was bad timing because we needed to find ourselves. At the time, I didn't realize it, but he did. He did, and as Robert Frost would say 'that-that has made all the difference.'"

It's a lovely theme. Timing plays a peculiar role in our lives and can influence love, work, money. If you imagine that each of us are little more than a tally of our mistakes and successes, somehow it becomes important that you don't let notions like destiny and fate interfere with your life.

I would love to see you expand on the middle. I'd love to know what the character's experience and thought process was that brought her to that beautiful closing paragraph. Well done, you have the seeds of something wonderful there.
