Alone

Wrote this on a stormy night when the electricity in my house went out.

Sit out in the garden with the rain

Here I am, afraid again.

Where is my fear from? Am I insane?

No strong arms to ease my pain.

First comes the light

Through the night

Then the thunder

Causing shudder

Loud and wide.

Is that what angels ride?

My candlelight anchors me tight,

Flickers, flickers... but never fades.

I am alone, with no one to hold

Yet isn't this the same as always?
