A little

A little

A Poem by ithink_____

Tell the student who couldn’t complete her exam

that a few words don’t matter.

Tell the mother who almost lost her child,

that a little harder can’t do much.

Tell the runner who came in the second place

that a moment doesn’t count.

Tell the man who couldn’t feed his family

that a handful of coins won’t change anything.

Tell the girl who has no friends

that a smile won’t change someone’s life.

Tell the farmer with barren land

a little rain couldn’t save his life.

Tell the young boy who is scared to read in class

that a speck of confidence is nothing.

Tell me that a ‘little’ can’t do much.

Tell me that a ‘few’ is not a lot

And

I will show you

how much a little

can do

I love the ending of this. As I kept reading I started to feel as if I was being pulled down. I didn't want to believe that all of those things didn't matter. And then those last three lines set me free. Beautifully written and very impactful. Thank you!
