Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed

A Poem by Just Kari
"

Trying to find stillness in chaos.

"
The
market is overwhelming today.  Swirls of
fragrant spices in the air.  Arms
reaching, shoulders and hips colliding as each tries to close his sale.  Voices shouting and flashes of the sun
between the canopies of each stand.  In
the distance the loud clang of metal pots falling as a careless shopper backs
into them.  In it all, I stand
still.  Silent.  Overwhelmed.

This is a poem inspired by a contest elsewhere that required the use of specific words. It got me to thinking. The specific words were still, market, silent and loud.

Very nicely done! Flows well and shows good emotion. I can really feel the close proximity of people in the market and hear the clanging of pots and pans. Good job, Kari!
