Their Fault

Their Fault

A Poem by Siobhan Crosier

Some people think that the world will end in fire and some in water.

In my opinion I think it will be better in fire because if the world would end in water all my memories would be washed away, people would then not understand how the earth feels.
If the world ends in fire people would understand that the earth is angry and all the memories and pictures of their home, family, and lovers burning in the fire would be burned into their mind.
They would finally understand that it is their fault that the earth is dying and that they can’t live… If the world is dead and that they will not allow others to roam the earth.
It’s their fault.

I don't quite understand the ending, they would finally understand that it's their fault that the world ended in fire? Or because it ended in water? Well, I don't really like to ponder over the ending of life as I know it, but this one is really getting into my mind. The second stanza by far made me think the most, every little bit of our memories washed away into an empty space that will never be visited again. Great job Siobhan, keep it up!
