Incessant ticking of the clock

Incessant ticking of the clock

A Poem by Bela

Incessant ticking of the clock,
Night creeps along slowly.
Enveloped in silence,
Not a soul stirs.
Madly, insane silence,
If only slumber
would make the night pass faster.
The clock and the heart
Ticking in separate rhythms.
Breathing lungs, expanding, inhaling
In time with the tick tock.
The ghastly scribbling of the pencil
Almost echoing against the silent walls.
Deafening silence, preferable
To the precise rhythm of the night.

About
Been writing poems on and off since I was 11 or 12. Dabbling a bit, many should never see the light of day, but in the past couple of years my poems are a little better. 99% of the time I do not feel.. more..
