The Stranger

The Stranger

A Poem by Iza Söder

A stranger in the street, that’s who you were.

Walking day by day, hour by hour,

Not knowing your smile could have an impact.

But seeing a smile, your smile, can make any ones’ day much better.

The five little wrinkles,

Rising under your cheeks.

The freckles,

Leaving the immeasurable sensation of watching stars,

Beautiful stars on the pitch-black night sky.

But just as the dark night sky must go,

Leaving space for the glowing dew of day,

So must you.

You must also walk away.

A stranger in the street,

The stranger in the street,

My stranger in the street.

Such a sweet and an endearing poem. That made me smile too. Loved it.
