a lady and her lover

a lady and her lover

A Poem by j.r.

pray and peer inside the depths of my darkness,

the coldest grey and chill of night beneath this stone slab

in this act, find warmth,

for my heart still beats and burns for you

your tired slumber and restless waking is disconcerting

allow me to comfort you in my crumbled, fleshless arms of bone

weight me down with the sorrow and be free of it

raise my corpse on holidays; parade it around on floats

massage my absent flesh with sharp, feminine fingers,

and lie here beside me a while, so that you might still watch me sleep

Author's Note

written for "from an image born". sorry poppy, been away and busy.
not the greatest work, but an exercise in poetry none-the-less ;0)
hopefully some worth can be found in it...

beautiful. don't pull that self-effacing bs, it's amazing, just like everything you write.
i hope you don't feel like you have to take on the weight of the world to unburden someone else, though. it's hard to be an empath...trust me, i should know. :)

j.r lol no worries love, its great to see a post from you here again love :)
This is wonderful for the image, a brilliantly constructed poem:)
I adore the imagery and the title is lush lol
Oh to keep the flesh alive and carry on love in a dream where all is happy!
This is great work hon
