Kids' Christmas Wishes

Kids' Christmas Wishes

A Poem by mr_yeaton

All throughout the hills and trees,
here you see the winter's presence:
Icy, frozen, the snow-flake's luminescence,
Nature's scene is set, and ease
rests indoors with family, ritual.
Mince the meat, bake the pie.
Race to the store, buy the victuals,
Christmas Eve looms nigh!
To bed we haste, we children tall.
Little grown-ups, us you might call,
always still so young of heart,
scribbling in cards our Christmas art.
Last-minute prayers thrust in those folds
grant ample love to warm them family colds!

Mr Yeaton! Are you , like me, a gentlman of a certain age?
This is almost Dickension in its timbre.
I love it.
I place it along side my favourite Xmas lines from The Who"s "Tommy"
"Did you see the faces of the children? They get so excited. Waking up on Christmas morning just before the Winter sun's ignited.
A pleasure sir!
