Merlot

Merlot

A Poem by jaime

I'm thinking about...
Butterflies-
The kind that flutter
Inside
When you stand
Behind me
and slide your thumbs
in my pockets,
squeeze my hips
and pull my back
against your chest.
You lean in
and breathe a kiss
on my neck.
My eyes dilate
and close hard
with bliss.

Sunflowers-
Like the one
I stole for you.
From the prison field
on the side
of the road.
The Louisiana heat
made me sweat
and I ran
Like a giddy thief.
And the look
in your eyes
when I stood
at your door
with a proud smile-
and a vase.
Hot and drenched
from humidity and sun.
But you were cool
in the way you kissed
my cheek,
Thanked me
and winked.

Flames-
in the fireplace.
The way they warm
my toes
And reflect on my glass
of Merlot.
And in your eyes
they dance
Like we did
in the street
Under the stars.
The night before
you had to leave.
I raise a toast,
ask for a reprise
from your ghost.
And I dream of sleep.

Maybe the first stanza could use some work but I'm an a$$. I really like this one, as well. (I'm starting to gush too much over you, perhaps?) You paint these scenes perfectly, well visualised. I want to hug this woman- play with her hair.

There are some phrases here that I'm kinda fond of: "and I ran/ Like a giddy thief.", "But you were cool/ in the way/ you kissed/ my cheek/ Thanked me/ and winked."

Nice line breaks, too.

oh how beautiful this ,how nice and tender
when you stood behind
my heart fluttered inside..like a baby
your arms caressing me and tongue
kissing my neck
my eyes dilate and close with a bliss
i brought you sunflowers i stole from a field nearby
proud with smile you stood at your door
i was hot and drenched from humidity of the sun
and you were cool the way you kissed my cheeks...thanked me and winked
the flames in the fireplace made me warm and reflected on my glass
and in your eyes those flames danced
like we did in the streets under the sky
but you had to leave
you always had to leave
and i always had to dream ...and sleep
how nice tender warm emotions this was beautifully written,i enjoyed every word, how wonderful, how sweet
