Daydreaming

A Poem by jane kelley

Daydreaming

I sit here gazing at your picture
my heart begins to melt
so much emotion fills me
with the love deep inside that is felt

My mind beings to wander
as I sit daydreaming of you
longing to have you by my side
wishing all my dreams would come true

So captivated is my heart
I become lost in every thought
overwhelmed by the beauty of our love
and all the happiness you have brought

Suddenly my mind drifts
I feel you so very near
now we’re laying under an oak tree
and we begin to disappear

Into the cotton candy clouds
sleeping in the sapphire sky
a sparrow sweetly singing
while chasing a dragonfly

There’s a touch of jasmine
sweetly scenting the breeze
your lips are touching mine
as we caress so tenderly

I wish I could stay forever
in this land of quiet sunshine
and make love to you
as we get lost together in time

For now I'm content with daydreams
until I can be with you
and turn all my dreams into realities
and share our love so true

These daydreams I will cherish
whenever we are apart
because every thought of you
shines so brightly in my heart

Another lovely work, I admire your ability to carry the rhyming through, whenever I try that it usually is in the format of a limerick!
I encourage you to put up other works as soon as you can.
