Unrequited

Unrequited

A Poem by J. Omontem
"

This is a poem about unrequited love. When one loves but it is not returned.

"

I feel alone in my sadness

Always reaching and never touched

Watching the way you linger

Always too far but never near

You promise me a future

A future that never comes

Left with a feeling of wanting

Never able to have

Anguish and tears

Ridicule and shame

I cannot let go, I hold on

As you cut my chains

I lay awake and wonder

Was this something I ever really had

About
My exterior tends to reflect the sunshine but inside I am deeply feeling and moved mostly by painful experiences and empathy for others. My writing tends to express inner turmoil and its resolution. more..
