Jaguar Dreams

Jaguar Dreams

A Poem by Jane E. Ries
"

...

"
A tree grows two hundred years in my day
birds of color sing the greenness of life
rain weeps happily onto fans of leaves
moss speaks whispers beneath my paws
monkey calls echo into the fog of morning air
on a quest for the paca when sleep overcomes
to sleep where a beam escapes the woven rooftops
lifting there above the canopy
harpy eagle guides back down to soft grasses
secluded among reeds wet soil invites a visit
dark dank water beckons where fish roam
lay into the thick coolness of a stream
shake off the skin of wetness' escaping drops
bound up to where I sleep and awake when I am one

About
These stories and poems represent a book in the making. The title of which is still undecided. My goal has been to present animals in ways that are compassionate and often funny. I hope you enjoy and .. more..
