Shades of Gray

Shades of Gray

A Poem by StruckByLightning
"

Keep your head up, don't let your troubles get to you. It will always get better.

"
You sit there
In class
Alone
In the corner.

Your head
Is down
Eyes closed
Like you're shutting out the pain.

You are
As still as a statue,
Don't make a sound
Pretend you don't exist.

But I know
Deep down
You long to be running
Away from the pain, the pressure, the sadness.

I know
You think you see
Only in black.
But don't forget
That even black
Has shades of gray.

Since I'm really into photography, the first thing you learn is that there no black and white, only shades of gray.
I look at this poem like everyone might look at the person you talked about, putting them in the section of "black" but no one takes the time to see this person doesn't belong there (meaning the shades of gray).

About
Hmmm... how should I get started? Well, my display name, StruckByLightning, is a metaphor of being struck by inspiration, because inspiration can electrify a person's mind the same way lightning can. .. more..
