I'm a Poet

You tell me.

Carefully examined,

Executed with scalpel precision,

No word used on a whim or with poor decision.

 

Like Ali,

They dance like a butterfly,

And sting like a bee�"

It’s not about the size,

But the impact it makes the reader see.

 

Poems are flash in the pan,

lightning in a bottle,

When the writer gets going, s**t, it goes full throttle.

 

Bam,

Boom,

Pang,

Pow,

Yeah, the poet is really knocking them out now!

 

One poem,

Two…

I got ten minutes, how about you read a few.

 

Praise me,

Worship me like you do your remote,

See this gun, yeah, better read everything I wrote.

 

See that novelist,

His prose so long?

Yeah, he gets no readers,

So he’ll just move along.

 

Me, I’m a mass producer of free verse crap,

You’ll love everything I write,

because their short and light.

 

Him?

F**k him this about me,

Exclusively.

I’m a poet at heart,

A free verse, a contender…

That novelist is just a loser and pretender.

 

It takes him a 1000 words to say what I do in three,

Yeah, that novelist wishes he was me.

And comments, yeah I get a ton…

He’s lucky if he gets one.

 

Poetry is the way to go,

You get hits,

Novel writing is for dimwits.

I get the girls, he gets b***h tits.

I get the glory and the fame,

He loses out on life and dies in vain.

 

So say it with me,

Be proud when you do�"
