I Shall be Unbound

I Shall be Unbound

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster
"

My first poem

"
I Shall be Unbound
This is a morning upon a flower has risen,
With fort-vigor and cheerful color
How is it my son, your demeanor sullen,
When there have been days duller?
In the tributary fish are jauntily beaming
Whilst the jovial flower seasons.
Why is it my daughter your frown insists?
With glee about you, occurs reason?
On the face of heaven, eternal  stretching azure
Where sailing birds, sing blissful.
Why is my it love, wallow in melancholy?
Perchance, your one love a fool?
Sitting on a comely branch, a squirrel forages
absent of even the subtlest sound.
What brings forth a tear dearest mother,
To the earth I shall be unbound.
