Carpe Diem, Reckless?

Carpe Diem, Reckless?

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster

The faithless are friends among the wise

As faith gilds the throne of piety’s speaker,

But faith in faithfulness proves unwise

For fools without caution be no weaker.

Where cautiousness may preserve oneself,

Recklessness offers chance to progress being,

To live or to live enjoying life’s wealth;

Sometimes it’s best to leap before seeing.
