Tootsie Pop

Tootsie Pop

A Poem by Kenneth Stephen Goodpaster
"

For my sweet tootsie pop

"

A warm touch can make tender roots grow
and despite regrets of mistakes
a moment is all it truly takes
to wither away what I know

Though my pride and nobility has failed me,
she smiles for me a sunshine
and kisses my cheek so softly
and just when I thought I've fallen apart
she put back together a broken heart.

With the rain that she made stop,
I can hold my sweet tootsie pop.
