MEMORY

MEMORY

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter

MEMORY

the dawn mist rises
from the quiet water face,
vanishing with

the sun’s first soft kiss,

memories

do not drift so easily...

You are a nature's poet aren't you? And you do it brilliantly too..
I agree, memories definitely don't drift away that easily, but i feel that some memories deserve to stick on, for whatever reason they do so- it could be a good one or a bad one..i mean if we forget easily then life would become meaningless and we would keep repeating our mistakes and forgetting faces..

thank god they don't... my favorite time of the day is when the sun begins to burn the mist from a pond or late... another calm and peaceful image you paint with your words...

happy you shared this... :)
The value of memory. Under-rated. My dear Grandfather told me often. Grandson, you saw the world and did many things. You will have good things to hold on to in old age. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

It always amazes me when a short piece can speak such large volumes. My writing is way too wordy to match anything like this. Props to one who can write pieces like this with grace and beauty. take care...dan

what a reflection...nature's new day...the spirit lightened by the soft kiss...memories good or bad do not drift easily, but are buffered by the softness of the new day....and/or a significant other who is like the sun to us.

Memories, both the ones we desire to remember and the ones that we desire to forget are processed in the same manner. some we most just pigeon hole away out of main stream thought to get them out of the way.
This is what I do and it has worked for me quite well as I do not forget things very well.
