i entered this thing just for fun no logical reason under the sun the grand prize would have been sweet adding 25 thousand smackers would be a treat 10 thousand for first could handle most any thirst 5 thousand for second to spend on my land and i am very lucky unique and plucky and our outhouse walls are made of cordwood carefully stacked around our center holed bench over our hole in the ground this was intended to be a short term solution but, plans are often changed by unexpected needs and our problem became, you see, through the winter the cord wood is burned to keep our domicile comfortably warm and the outhouse walls eventually are burned so the cold winds of winter soon freeze our butts good, ahhhhhh, pine plank walls the cold chills would have withstood... but, i won third and i thought it a t**d a lifetime supply of velveeta cheese 25 thousand 5 pound boxes of velveeta cheese they reckconed it to be and here i sit pondering, gazing at my milk goats munching and clearing brush to please, i make wonderful goat cheese for extra income and, my craving for cheese' it does appease what would i do with with 25 thousand 5 pound boxes of processed cheese... and, as i sit and stew our falling down outhouse comes into view... my flat bed trailer covered with boxes of cheese i consider, it’s shelf life the manufacturers say is 36 thousand years, and i wonder why it needed to last so long... then it hits me like thunder their cheese comes in 5 pound “bricks” a good mud mortar should do the trick it takes a whole day, almost a labor of love our laughter rolling across the heaven above now the out house walls are bricks of cheese and should last 36 thousand years so our bums will not freeze and before the walls tumble we will have indoor plumbing...please!!!
jeannemarie, I'll tell you right off the bat that this goes straight into my library favorites!! This is so wonderfully written (the story is spellbinding) and constructed; I honestly am dumbfounded and tongue tied (keyboard tied?) that I can't logically arrange enough superlatives to express my feelings about this piece that I am using an old cliché...this is just plain AWESOME!! Your talent and vision continue to amaze me, thank you for sending me so many read requests (it may take me a while to get to them but I vow to get to them all) and sharing your gift with me and all other WC readers. take care...dan
