Day in the forest

Day in the forest

A Poem by J.

As I walk down the leafy path,

The wind picks up and shows its wrath,

The pines are swaying far above my head,

And I wish I home tucked away in my bed.

One cold chill runs over my hand,

And all around me droplets of crystal land,

The rain is coming, 'Tis here,

I am too late, howling wind and rain I can only hear.

I was caught in that mighty storm.

I like this very much. It reminds me of many childhood days in New England heading home in the early winter nights. I can hear the wind blowing the pines with the verse, I can feel that cold winter bite as the rain falls. Wonderfully written, and thanks for the recall of memory. A beautiful poem. 'll be sure to look for more work of yours in the future.
