Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill

A Poem by jen -- JG
"

a bit of fun trying to make a triplicate limerick ........

"

Jack and Jill

                 a limerick in triplicate

There once was a lady called Jill

Who carried her bucket up hill

Up the top was her Jack

But he sent her back

So she dumped him, and said I am Jill.

That’s right my true name is Jill

Believe me I’m nobody’s dill

If you want the water

Then fetch it you orter

So Jack brought the bucket up hill.

There once was a fellow called Jack

Who tried to give poor Jill the sack

Instead of crying and whinging

She went back down singing

Confusing the poor fellow called jack.

Cleverly thought out .. scans pretty well ... nice new take on an old theme ....

poor Jack - men just never get it do they? lol. I admit that I can't really comment about the limerick style of this piece - as I just write and never really follow rules - but I found the flow smooth, the content made me smile and the rhyming pattern easy and metered. great job!

P.S. Thank you for the review. Christmas has come and gone, and we all survived lol. 2008 isn't turning out so hot right now - but there's a lot of year left so trying to keep a positive attitude.
