One Rose in a Billion

One Rose in a Billion

A Poem by Jen

In sadness look and see a blushing rose

On who’s petals raindrops sit and run along her stem

Heaven’s tears do drown her, yet she grows

To bear against the wind and Fates’ unforgiving whim

Now joyfully day’s warmth does kiss her face

And the sun himself steps from the sky to touch her bloom

Filled with strange and stirring brilliant grace

He whispers, “Tremble not little flower; fear no doom.”
