The Prodigal Son

The Prodigal Son

A Poem by Jen Garmala

You who were once so pure

Who had such a peaceful composure

Now have become lost

Blind to the destruction and cost

The choices you've made

Now consequeces must be paid

You have been tainted

By a girl whom you're acquainted

We fought to keep you

But in hate you bid us adieu

The battle is done

You've become the Prodigal Son

You shun those closest

And now a rescue is hopeless

We watch and we wait

Your fall to an atrocious state

Now be a stranger

Wallowing in beloved danger

Becomde friend to sin

See how the Serpent shows his grin

All this for one girl

Who's taken you up in a whirl

Of pain and deceit

Painted us villian with conceit

With this she-devil

And your path no longer meddle

Deaf to all reason

We hope to see you next season

Hope to reunite

We hope this darkness you will fight

Come back to the light

This evil inside you can smite

I've lost my brother

To the fancy of another
