Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Written Wolf

In the deepest darkness;

our true selves can be found.

So lock the door my pet;

Turn out the light and don't make a sound.

Are you sure you wish to know;

The truth about who you are?

Can you handle seeing your soul;

That small, fading star?

In the deepest darkness,

Hides the secrets of which you sought.

In that lonely part of your mind;

You restrain your every horrid thought.

Turn out the light;

accept that shadowed part.

Let everything go,

Only then can life truly start.

This is so true...it's hard to face yourself in the often harsh light, but by remaining in the dark and not making a sound, you are also remaining "a small fading star". I say "turn on the lights" and let the world see whatever I am learning to be...even the rotten parts. Great poem; it really makes you think.
