DERBY

DERBY

A Poem by jess foreman
"

The city i was born in, moved away from but wanting to return

"

How far will I be till I miss Derby

Maybe a mile

Maybe more

Its old, cold but it has a hold

I moved across the Earth

it is comfortable to live there

but I still feel bare

family, your all so sweet

its not long till again we meet

How far will I be till I  miss Derby

In the car

or on Jupiter

Life there is so fun

being so far makes me numb

Taking the Arriva

on top deck

everything looks like a fleck

The fun times

the cheap buys

oh how time flies

How far will I be till I miss Derby

The answer is clear

I just want to be near

being out of town

being out of country

its just not for me

Derby im coming home

time to give this dog a bone

My mother on the phone

shes weeping just thinking

babies coming home she can't stop beaming

So not far is how far I will miss Derby.
